2019 FANTASY BASEBALL PLAYER ANALYZER: NOMAR MAZARA OUTFIELDER TEXAS RANGERS

Now three years into his still very young MLB career, Texas Rangers outfielder Nomar Mazara has the consistency thing down pat as he has hit exactly 20 home runs in each of those campaigns.  Last season those 20 homers were paired with 77 RBI, 61 runs, and a shoddy .258 average but it remains important to mention Mazara will turn only 24 this April which means some upside remains.  Be that as it may, the current version of Mazara is a bit underwhelming as he took a step back both in walks (7.5 BB/9) and strikeouts (21.6 K/9) last season compared to 2017 and he has no speed to speak of with just 3 career steals.  Since there are no steals to be had, it is imperative Mazara hit for average and around 25 homers to hold OF 3 value in fantasy baseball leagues but he is not quite there yet.  Still, Mazara can easily reach those figures in 2019 or soon thereafter given his youth and the ballpark is certainly an attraction.  So a late-round pick seems like a smart idea given the upside Mazara still brings to the table.
