2018 FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: TURNED ANKLE HAS DEE GORDON'S OWNERS ON FRIDAY PINS AND NEEDLES

When a player suffers an injury and the team admits later that night after the game that there is no update on the severity, stomachs begin to turn if you personally are invested in the individual.  Such a scenario unfolded Thursday night when Seattle Mariners second baseman/outfielder Dee Gordon turned his ankle in ugly fashion in the team's loss to the Toronto Blue Jays and immediately exited for testing.  After the game's completion, manager Scott Servais had no update and so now Gordon's fantasy baseball owners are left to think the worst here.  The fact that some additional testing is needed for Friday is probably not a good sign and so thought of ligament damage or maybe even a slight fracture start entering into the mind of Gordon's fantasy baseball owners.  If he were to need time on the DL, it would represent the second such placement for Gordon this season and it would further take the shine off of what has been a good season for the speedster who is hitting .288 with 49 runs scored and 26 steals.  Given the earlier DL stint though, there is some disappointment that Gordon's steals numbers are down and that he won't get to 60 or even 50 by the looks of it.  That certainly hurts the bottom line cost on Gordon since most of his value is tied into the runs and steals he accrues since he has almost literally zero power.  With that said, Gordon would still be a big loss if he were to go back onto the DL so stay tuned on this Friday for an update.
