As expected, Detroit Tigers first baseman/DH Miguel Cabrera was placed on the 10-day DL on Friday with a right hamstring strain first suffered during Thursday afternoon's game. Having just gotten over a bout of biceps soreness, Cabrera has dealt with numerous injuries already this season which have somewhat overshadowed a terrific start at the dish as he hit .323 with 3 home runs and 21 RBI.
Analysis: While the home run output on a per game basis has been down for the second season in a row which could be a testament to the back trouble from 2017, Cabrera has more than shown he can still hit. Unfortunately, being 34 and having a big body like he has ultimately is making Cabrera a very dicey health bet. It is likely we will see more of this as the season goes on here which makes him best suited for a UTIL or CI spot on your team.
