2018 FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: METS FINALLY FORCED TO PLACE JACOB DeGROM (ELBOW) ON THE DL

Adding to an already comical history when it comes to handling injuries, the New York Mets finally did the obvious when they placed ace SP Jacob DeGrom on the 10-day DL Sunday due to the hyperextended elbow he suffered in the middle of last week.  The NY Daily News reported that DeGrom would need a month on the shelf despite the fact no structural damage was found in the elbow but Mets manager Mickey Callaway quickly refuted that by saying he would make his next start.  Now we get word DeGrom was still feeling some soreness in the elbow as per Sunday morning and Callaway tried to quickly spin it that the team was being overly cautious.  Sometimes the Mets just can't do anything right when it comes to handling injuries and this is just the latest.  Callaway did say DeGrom would be able to come back when first eligible on May 13th but take that with a grain of salt the way things go on here.  While the bigger picture is there is no structural issues, any DeGrom missed outing is a big one.
