Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder A.J. Pollock will be placed on the 10-day DL with a thumb injury according to a team source and this was talked about later by manager Torey Luvollo. Pollock sprained his thumb during Monday night's game but no official update has been given by the team as of this writing. It is always a bad omen when an update is not given later in the night when an injury first occurred and that usually means initial X-Rays were either inconclusive or showed something that needed to be confirmed by an MRI. Knowing Pollock's injury history, it is possible ligament damage was found which would mean a 6-8 week absence. Wait for an official update before completely panicking but this is not looking good. Once again Pollock flashed monster five category ability prior to getting injured but missing games has become the story of his career.
