Chicago White Sox second baseman Yoan Moncada was forced to exit the team's Wednesday afternoon game versus the St. Louis Cardinals with what has been called hamstring tightness and he is being listed as day-to-day moving forward. Moncada left in the eighth inning while sliding into second base and he as noticeably hobbling as he left the field. Initial fears of a knee injury proved to be misplaced speculation and so disaster was avoided here. Now in terms of his season, Moncada is really starting to come around as his average is up to .268 with 6 home runs and 4 stolen bases as he is beginning to show the power/speed dynamic that made him such a top prospect in the first place. On the negative side, Moncada's 37.6 K/9 is downright hideous and shows he is not completely there yet as a finished product.
