2018 FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: COREY KNEBEL ALMOST CERTAIN TO HIT DL AFTER SUFFERING HAMSTRING INJURY THURSDAY

Milwaukee Brewers All-Star closer Corey Knebel is likely facing a lengthy stint on the disabled list after he suffered what looked to be a serious hamstring injury during an appearance Thursday night.  Knebel hit the ground like he was hot after throwing a pitch and was in obvious pain which speaks to the magnitude of the injury.  Having already escaped a spring training leg issue without any serious missed time, Knebel could be out awhile if he, in fact, tore the hamstring or even if it was just a serious Grade 3 strain.  An update will likely clarify things more either later tonight or tomorrow but this is run-to-the-wire news in regards to signing setup man Josh Hader who already has the sky-high K rate and dominance to excel in the ninth inning.  Consider that in 2017, Hader punched out an insane 68 batters in just 47.2 IP with a 2.08 ERA and 0.99 WHIP.  He already has struck out 7 batters in 3 scoreless frames so far this season and so he is the logical choice to take over and must be added right away.  As far as Knebel, once again top-priced closers are simply a bad investment year-to-year due to a variable of performance and high risk of injury.
