2018 FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: DREADED OBLIQUE STRAIN LIKELY TO SEND CHRISTIAN YELICH TO THE DL

Damn.  The hype concerning Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich was off the charts heading into the 2018 season due to having been freed from the massive ballpark in Miami with the Marlins and arriving in one of the best home runs venues in the game in Milwaukee.  The Brewers' home base plays particularly well for lefthanded power which of course suits Yelich perfectly and so considering he already was one of the best pure hitters in the game who also had the ability to steal 15-20 bases, the ADP went soaring this spring.  It appeared that whatever increased cost regarding Yelich at the draft table was well worth it as he stormed out of the gates to hit .385 with 1 home run, 5 RBI, and 6 runs in 6 games but things got interrupted Wednesday when he came down with a dreaded oblique strain that is likely to send him to the disabled list.  We all know by now that oblique strains are almost always an automatic DL stint and they tend to linger as well which adds to the angst.  Stay tuned for an update later but anticipate Yelich missing some extended action.
