2018 FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: DELINO DeSHIELDS DOWN 4-6 WEEKS DUE TO HAND SURGERY

Texas Rangers leadoff man/outfielder Delino Deshields will miss the next 4-6 weeks of action after undergoing surgery to remedy a broken hamate bone in his hand.  The hand had a clear fracture which is why DeShields is going to be out longer than what we have seen in other hamate issues from other players in the past but either way, this is a decent blow to his owners who likely were depending on him for a high amount of stolen bases.  With steals in short supply around the game today, DeShields had a spot on a team in almost all fantasy baseball leagues on that skill alone.  In deeper formats, you should try and stash DeShields who can hit for a better average than a similar player like Billy Hamilton but in more shallow leagues he is not worth holding down the DL spot.
