According to multiple outlets, the New York Yankees are on the verge of acquiring Pittsburgh Pirates ace pitcher Gerrit Cole for a package of prospects. Top outfield prospect Clint Frazier will headline the package and be joined possibly by pitcher Chance Adams or 3B Miguel Andujar. As far as fantasy baseball is concerned, Cole would be downgraded moving into the AL and Yankee Stadium like Sonny Gray was last summer. Also Cole remains a major injury risk that makes him more of a medium SP 2 if the deal goes through. The Yankees meanwhile are building a super team after pulling off the Giancarlo Stanton deal last week.
