2018 FANTASY BASEBALL ISSUES: J.T. REALMUTO REQUEST TRADE FROM MIAMI

With the Miami Marlins and new executive Derek Jeter trading anything that is not nailed down over the last few weeks, it stood to reason that no single player on the roster was safe in terms of being purged.  One such player the Marlins did say publicly that they in fact wanted to keep around is smooth-hitting catcher J.T, Realmuto who batted .277 with 17 home runs and 8 stolen bases for the team in 2017.  Compared to former All-Star Jason Kendall, Realmuto has very rare average/speed for the position and power that is still seemingly developing.  Well Realmuto apparently was not happy with the way the Marlins gutted the roster in terms of dealing away outfielders Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna and on Monday he in fact requested a trade himself.  Now the Marlins are under no obligation to move Realmuto since he is under contract for three more seasons but these situations often turn ugly quickly which might behoove them to make a move.  Also Realmuto would bring back supreme prospects in any deal given his rare offensive abilities at catches and for the fact he is under control for three more seasons.  This is a situation that bears watching from a fantasy baseball angle as any move into a more offensive ballpark would make the already potent draft stock of Realmuto go even higher.
