The 2018 fantasy baseball season is still months away but the injuries are beginning already as we learned Wednesday that Baltimore Orioles All-Star closer Zach Britton tore his Achilles tendon during a Tuesday workout which will keep him out for the next six months. This follows a rough 2017 campaign where Britton battled injuries throughout the year and was the subject of trade talks as well. The six-month timeline means Britton won't return to active duty until June at the earliest barring any setbacks and so that means the very capable Brad Brach will close games in his stead. Brach is the guy to target in 2018 fantasy baseball drafts and he needs to be moved up quite a bit in early cheat sheets. As far as Britton is concerned, his career is already starting to spiral from all these serious injuries and he will likely be a forgotten man this spring given his lengthy absence.
