Ahh yes Doug Martin. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back is quickly becoming one of the more hates players in all of fantasy football. Not only has he earned deserved scorn for some putrid performances the last season-plus, Martin also stupidly got pinched for PED usage which led to a suspension. Perhaps reaching a new low, Martin's RETURN to practice on Wednesday has invited another round of hollering to his name due to those who excitedly added backup running back Peyton Barber off waivers this morning. After all it was Barber who ran for over 100 yards and caught four balls in his starting debut in place of Martin in Week 13 but now his outlook for this Sunday looks a heck of a lot less exciting since his teammate returned to the field. Now while Martin still has not officially gotten out of the concussion protocol, it is expected he will do so before Sunday and thus he will likely get some carries at the very least to negatively impact Barber's once-promising upside. What this all means now is that Giovani Bernard and Mike Davis are now more potent replacement running back items for fantasy football Week 14 and Barber moves from a firm RB 2 to a FLEX at best.
