This is getting old. For the third time in the last four years (thankfully I won the other time), yours truly went down in the Experts League Fantasy Football PPR money league. I got "Gurley'd" as the new saying goes and really 49.60 points from the Los Angeles Rams running back later, there was nothing I could do. My opponent had a stacked team all year, benefitting primarily from both Gurley's explosion and the season-ending injury to Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware which allowed Kareem Hunt to have a spectacular rookie debut. Altogether, he got over 70 points from his two running backs ALONE in the game and I was lucky to lose by just 16. I can live with the loss in that unlike last year when I handed this same owner the title with stupid roster moves, I made all the correct calls (save for going with Theo Riddick over Duke Johnson but 10 additional points from latter wouldn't have mattered). Benching the scorching Marquis Goodwin for Dede Westbrook was the right way to go, plus sticking with Big Ben over Nick Foles. So, in essence, I earned second place. I have to say though that it is brutal to lose in the finals of fantasy football and especially three of the last four years. What also became clear after is that running back is fully en vogue again in terms of the first round of the draft. Next season Gurley, Hunt, Le'Veon Bell, LeSean McCoy, Melvin Gordon, Alvin Kamara, and David Johnson should all go in Round 1. That's 8 guys for 12 slots. They should be joined by Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr, and DeAndre Hopkins and then a wild card among Julio Jones, Mark Ingram, and Michael Thomas. So while it was a fun, we are moving on fully to fantasy baseball where I always do my best work.
