The shock and despair for those fantasy football owners of Houston Texans QB DeShaun Watson continues to hang in the air on Friday; fresh off the staggering news he would miss the remainder of the 2017 season with a torn ACL suffered in practice on Thursday. The easy fallout centered on how wideouts DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller would see a sharp decrease in value with the awful Tom Savage under center but running back Lamar Miller is in trouble as well. Last year's draft darling, Miller went bust for those who used a mid-first round pick on him last summer as a very heavy workload early in the season and constant 8-men in the box conspired to ruin his numbers (just a 4.0 per carry average, 5 rushing scores, 31 catches). There was some optimism and buy low appeal for Miller this time around as his draft stock fell leading into the new season however as the workload was still expected to be potent but once again the results have not been good. As we move toward Week 9, Miller is averaging an even worse 3.6 per carry compared to a year ago and has just 426 yards total on the ground. Miller has seen an uptick in catches (18 for 194 yards) and a total of four scores is decent but now the going will be much tougher as 8-men in the box will return in earnest this week with Savage throwing passes and not Watson. So if you do own stock in Miller, try and see what you could possibly get for him in trades. While it may not be much, Miller looks like a big problem the rest of the season given the current QB setup.
