When it comes to the world of fantasy football. things tends to change at a rapid pace. A player can be a star one week and then out of a job the next. Such a scenario is now unfolding in Green Bay where incumbent starter Ty Montgomery might have seen his starting role go up in smoke due to suffering broken ribs at the start of the team's game versus the Chicago Bears back in Week 4. With Montgomery unable to go the following Sunday, that opened the door to impressive rookie Aaron Jones to rumble for 125 yards and a score on just 19 carries in the team's comeback win over the Dallas Cowboys. Right away the talk began in terms of Jones remaining a big part of the offense even when Montgomery comes back but now that chatter has gone up another notch on Thursday. It was early in the day when reports indicated Jones will remain the starter even if Montgomery were to be healthy; with the latter coming in on third down passing plays. This would be a devastating blow to Montgomery's fantasy football outlook as Jones will take a a tremendous chunk of prospective numbers. So Montgomery in essence is going from a solid RB 1 who played well in a PPR sense the first three weeks to someone who is worth dropping on the wire. All in the span of two weeks. Meanwhile Jones is becoming a major person of interest and could carry immense RB 2 value the rest of the season. Incredible.
