2017 FANTASY FOOTBALL MONDAY NIGHT WRAPUP: CHIEFS/BRONCOS

The Denver Broncos should have been all over the Jimmy Garappolo talks because it is clear they don't have a competent QB on the roster.  Meanwhile the Chiefs have some kicker to go with an explosive offense and terrific defense.

-Boy has Broncos QB Trevor Siemian hit the skids.  A decent start to the year has descended to where he is no lock to start going forward as he completed just 19-of-36 throws for 198 yards with 1 TD and 3 INT's.  Paxton Lynch is unlikely to be much better so a championship-caliber defense is going to waste.  Meanwhile Alex Smith was a inaccurate in completing just 14-of-31 throws but he tossed a TD and didn't throw an interception.  This is more the Alex Smith from the previous decade but he still is worth an every week start given the tools around him.

-Kareem Hunt is human after all.  The prized Chiefs rookie back rushed for just 46 yards on 22 carries as he experienced what Ezekiel Elliott did a few weeks prior in getting shut down by the tremendous Broncos run defense.  Hunt did add 3 catches for 22 yards but overall it was a rare non-impact outing.  No reason to worry though.

On the other side, C.J. Anderson rushed for 78 yards on 15 carries, while Devontae Booker (6 for 40) picked up a score.  Feel free to drop Jamaal Charles who lost a fumble and rushed for 39 yards on 8 carries.  Too many mouths to feed here.  Also Anderson and Lamar Miller might be the most boring backs in the league.

-Demaryuis Thomas continued to waste away in the awful Denver passing games.  He had his usual five catches (for 66 yards) but did not score again.  A true WR 1 with an even decent QB, Thomas remains in WR 2 purgatory.

As far as the Chiefs receivers, tight end Travis Kelce remains an impossible matchup for defenses as he hauled in 7 balls for 133 yards and one TD.  Tyreek Hill was back to frustrating his owners in catching just two passes for 38 yards.  He is simply a younger DeSean Jackson.

-Finally, a shout out needs to go to rookie Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker who put up 21 points in nailing all five of his field goals.  What a find this guy has been and he is getting a ton of chances which is fantasy football gold.
