When it comes to the 0-2 New York Giants' pitiful start to the 2017 season, much of the negative attention has been paid to the downright hideous offensive line, the fact Brandon Marshall has just two catches, and the questions that Eli Manning is finished being an effective passer. Lost in the shuffle however has been the complete ineffectiveness of running back Paul Perkins who is averaging just 1.86 yards per carry through games. That number is so bad that it is almost impossible to believe and so it makes total sense that reports are beginning to make the rounds that backup Orleans Darkwa could get more of a look in Week 3 versus the Philadelphia Eagles. This is no shock to yours truly as I have said since right after the opener that Darkwa was worth adding given the fact he had a nice preseason and has done some nice things in the past when given a chance to carry the football. With Darkwa averaging 5.2 per carry in limited time so far, the numbers bear this out. So wherever Darkwa is available, the proactive move would be to pick him up and bank on him getting the majority of carries going forward. Possessing good speed and also soft hands to help in the passing game, Darwka could be a nice value play going forward.
