After the Indianapolis Colts completed a trade with the New England Patriots to acquire QB Jacoby Brissett, the instant reaction from the fantasy football world was that franchise passer Andrew Luck was headed for at least a six-week absence in staying on the PUP list to begin the 2017 season. Alas the Colts removed Luck from PUP on Saturday as they trimmed their roster and the ramifications are huge here on many levels. For one thing, this means the Colts are fairly certain Luck will not need six weeks to recover from offseason shoulder surgery. It also is a big positive for the Colts skill players such as wideouts T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief; along with tight end Jack Doyle. This will come as a big relief for all Luck fantasy football owners who no doubt bought very low on him this summer but who may now get a huge payoff when he does come back healthy. Of course the Colts needs to shore up their offensive line which is an annual problem and could lead to more injury concerns during the season but for now a Week 2/3 return seems possible.
