Well this is already not going according to plan. Fantasy football owners of Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard no doubt have such a feeling as they watched 5-6 rookie dynamo Tarik Cohen become the talk of the industry almost overnight as he ran and caught the football all over the field. Cohen was the consensus top pickup in waivers this week and with wide receiver Kevin White going down for the season yet again, the team is expected to keep feeding him the football in a major way. Sort of left behind is Howard who went as a late first round picks as he himself came off a tremendous rookie debut when he ran for 1,313 yards and 6 touchdowns, while also catching 29 passes. Cohen was well off the radar when drafts got underway this summer and so Howard was expected to be a rare bellcow back and clear RB 1. Well Cohen has thrown that plan into chaos and now Howard made an appearance on the injury report Wednesday with a sore shoulder. Even prior to the injury news, it was setting up for Howard to primarily be the runner for the Bears this week, while Cohen handled the receiving aspect of it. While Howard was not known as a receiver in college and struggled there a bit as a rookie, he still was expected to gather 30-plus there. That goes out the window due to Cohen which hurts him in PPR formats. Also with Cohen needing to be given carries due to his insane speed, Howard will also see a dip in carries and rushing yardage. Again not great for his value. So all of a sudden we have a setup that hurts Howard quite a bit and knocks him down from RB 1 status to RB 2. Ugly, ugly, ugly.
