2017 FANTASY FOOTBALL STATUS REPORT: SAM BRADFORD AND VIKINGS OFFENSE/DEFENSE LOOK LIKE MAJOR FANTASY FOOTBALL FORCE

No matter where you looked in terms of the Minnesota Vikings during their Monday night destruction of the New Orleans Saints, fantasy football alarms were blaring.  While the Vikings defense dominated the Saints to continue what was a tremendous 2016 on that side of the ball, it was the offense that really opened eyes as pretty much every key player there contributed in a big-time way.  With the Vikings having revamped the offense attack during the offseason, everything was clicking as QB Sam Bradford slung passes all over the field to wideouts Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, while rookie back Dalvin Cook ran wild.  The end result is that the Viking offense looks like a potential force to be reckoned with; with Bradford serving as a prime waiver wire add in all fantasy football leagues this season.

Sam Bradford:  Completing 27-of-32 passes for 346 yards and 3 scores, Bradford once again reminded us why he was once the number 1 overall draft pick in his class.  Unfortunately Bradford had dealt with some horrible injury luck during his career but he got the chance to pilot the Vikings at the start of last season when Teddy Bridgewater went down with his gruesome broken leg.  While the Vikes did not qualify for the playoffs, Bradford was quite good as he tossed 20 touchdowns with just 5 scores.  The fact of the matter is that Bradford has a rifle for an arm and he doesn't turn the football over.  Enter two prime wideouts and a very solid tight end in Kyle Rudolph and the fantasy football alarms are blaring.  This is especially true in two passer leagues and so Bradford should be picked up by any QB-needy team.

Stefon Diggs/Adam Thielen:  Both Diggs and Thielen have flashed big ability in the past but Diggs has battled injuries and Thielen was a late bloomer.  Well both guys were incredible Monday night, with Diggs hauling in 7 balls for 93 yards and two touchdowns.  Diggs was previously a PPR maven as a slot wideout who didn't score much but he was moved to the outside for the start of 2017.  Needless to say, the results are tremendous so far.  Meanwhile Thielen picked up where he left off with his scorching performance last December to haul in 9 balls for a ridiculous 157 yards.  There is massive big-play potential here and so Thielen should be a WR 3 at worst like Diggs for now.

Dalvin Cook:  Yeah Cook showed why we had him as the top running back in the 2017 NFL Draft as he rushed for 127 yards on 22 carries, while also catching 3 passes for another 10 yards.  Cook is a terrific receiver and so he already has top RB 2 billing in PPR formats.  Enter the big workload into the equation and Cook has RB 2 value in standard leagues as well.

Overall the Minnesota Vikings looked as good as any team in the NFL in Week 1 and this includes their prime fantasy football players.  This could be a very interesting season.
