The Arizona Cardinals confirmed on Tuesday that star running back David Johnson would miss the next 2-3 months as he will undergo wrist surgery. The Cards will place Johnson on IR and the earliest he can return to the team will be in Week 12. It also it not fully guaranteed that Johnson will be able to return at all during the regular season and so the whole situation is a complete disaster for his fantasy football owners who had to spend the first overall pick to get him in many leagues. Kerwyn Williams is expected to be the primary runner initially but the Cards will use Andre Ellington on third downs and also sign veteran Chris Johnson to complete for touches. There is no simple way to replace Johnson in fantasy football and so this gigantic piece of news can't get any bigger. Just a downright cruel and brutal development for all involved.
