Well perhaps Joe Mauer is not done after all. Seemingly a forgotten man for the better part of the last 2-3 seasons in fantasy baseball due to non-existent power, increasing injuries, and the loss of catcher eligibility; the veteran first baseman has been about as hot a pure hitter as there is in the game in September. Hitting nearly .400 for the month, Mauer has upped his season average to .311 which is the highest he has been this late in the year since 2013. While Mauer still has very little power (just seven home runs), those who need a late season boost in the batting average department can't do any better than this guy. With 68 RBI and 65 runs scored, Mauer can also help a bit in the runs/RBI department as well. Yes at the age of 34 Mauer's best days are still clearly behind him but he is refusing to go quietly by the looks of it.
