On the same day that super shortstop prospect Amed Rosario will make his much-anticipated debut with the New York Mets, the division rival Atlanta Braves got into the middle infielder prospect fun Tuesday when they tabbed Ozzie Albies to make his debut for tonight's game. Just all of 20-years-old, Albies is the crown jewel position prospect in the Braves system and he comes up the majors after having hit 9 home runs, stole 21 bases, and batted .285 this season at Triple-A. Again those terrific power/speed numbers were put forth by a kid who can't even legally vote yet which goes to show you how vast the upside and natural the talent is. Just like with Rosario, Albies is a big-time speed asset who will immediately contribute runs and stolen bases. The power is already ahead of Rosario which is also no small thing and only some shaky plate discipline (high for the minors 20.1 K/9 and a bit low 6.3 BB/9 rates) will depress the average initially some. Be that as it may, Albies needs to be added everywhere so stop right now and run to your league waiver wire.
