2017 FANTASY BASEBALL BREAKING NEWS: YANKS TO ACQUIRE DAVID ROBERTSON, TODD FRAZIER, AND TOMMY KAHNLE

As our own Michael Wong reported two days ago, the New York Yankees will reunite with All-Star closer David Robertson according to multiple outlets.  The real surprise is that the Yanks will also get first baseman/third baseman Todd Frazier and ace setup man Tommy Kahnle as well for a batch of prospects.  No word yet on who the prospects are but Wong reported the Yanks were dangling shortstop Jorge Mateo.  In terms of breaking down the deal, Frazier will move to first base exclusively with the Yankees as that spot has been a huge black hole for the team given the frustrating injury setbacks of Greg Bird.  While Frazier is hitting just .207, he has 16 home runs as he remains one of the better pure power hitters in the game.  Yes the average is a joke but Frazier has seen a major home/road split where he has done his best work on the road.  Yankees Stadium should suit him just fine and so this is a good move for Frazier's fantasy baseball value.

Meanwhile, Robertson will move into setup with the Yanks along with Kahnle to give the Yankees a ridiculous bullpen with Dellin Betances and super closer Aroldis Chapman.  Robertson has had a higher ERA than you would like at closer since becoming one with the Yankees in his previous stint but this season he has been good with a 2.70 ERA and 47 K in 33.1 innings.  Still setup will destroy Robertson's fantasy baseball value since he won't be getting saves and neither will Kahnle who has been excellent himself with a 2.50 ERA and 60 whiffs in 36 frames.  Well done Brian Cashman.
