2017 FANTASY BASEBALL ISSUES: ALL VETERANS, ALL DAY LONG

How about this season in fantasy baseball?  Arguably the biggest theme right behind the insane injury epidemic that is ruining most rosters has been the tremendous production of the off-the-radar veteran hitters/pitchers this season.  The value effect from this grouping is beyond massive and it has given owners of these players the right to crow a bit.  It also has created a make believe scenario where you could have drafted these players instead of chasing the hot properties this past spring and likely wound up in first place.  So with that said, let's see how a roster of these players would look like.

C-Alex Avila, Matt Wieters
1B-Yonder Alonso, Ryan Zimmerman
2B-Marwin Gonzalez, Scooter Gennett
SS-Elvis Andrus, Zack Cozart
3B-Travis Shaw, Josh Harrison
OF-Corey Dickerson, Aaron Hicks, Matt Holliday, Brett Gardner, Matt Adams
UTIL/CI-Justin Smoak, Mark Reynolds

SP
Zack Greinke
Jason Vargas
Ervin Santana
Dan Straily
C.C. Sabathia

RP
Bud Norris
Jim Johnson

As you can see, the veteran establishment has ruled in 2017 fantasy baseball and it goes to show you that maybe we should re-evaluate this "boring" establishment for next season's drafts given what we are seeing.
