The New York Yankees suddenly have an injury epidemic on their hands. Just a few days after placing C.C. Sabathia on the DL with a hamstring problem, the team is mulling whether to do the same with catcher Gary Sanchez and outfielder Aaron Hicks. Sanchez suffered a groin injury during Thursday's game, while Hicks came down with an Achilles issue. Perhaps telling is the fact the Yanks called up third-string catcher Kyle Higashioka for Friday's game in terms of Sanchez' status but Hicks is surely the more likely of the two to hit the DL given the nature of Achilles injuries. Both guys are very hot of late, with Hicks having an overall tremendous season that has garnered some All-Star hype. Meanwhile if Sanchez is placed on the DL, it would mark the second such occasion this season. Only recently has Sanchez begun to look like the hitting monster he was in his insane breakout in 2016 and so the timing couldn't be any worse.
