Sometimes guy just can't catch a break. After losing almost the entire full seasons of 2015 and 2016 with rampant injuries, Los Angeles Dodgers Korean pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu was on his way toward becoming a nice story for the team and his fantasy baseball owners this season. A high point came in his last start when Ryu racked up 9 strikeouts in just 5.1 inning with 1 earned run. The outing dropped Ryu's ERA to 4.05 and his WHIP was still somewhat high at 1.31. However Ryu was missing bats with 29 K's in just 26.2 innings which spoke to how good his stuff was. A bruised hip this time has sent Ryu to the DL and the good news is that it is not anything to do with his arm. Ryu may miss just one start and so holding him is the smart play.
