New York Yankees outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury has been a pleasant surprise this season as he went into Mondays action hitting for average and stealing bases at a high clip. It was very encouraging in that Ellsbury had been nothing but a disaster the last two years, with numbers sliding everywhere. While Ellsbury will never go back to his old OF 1 self, he was deserving of everyday status again given his big start. Well things may be interrupted a bit now that an MRI on the elbow that Ellsbury injured in Monday's game showed a nerve bruise. The Yankees will give Ellsbury a few days to try and return to the lineup but the Yankees may place him on the DL by the weekend if he is not playing. The DL is old habit for Ellsbury as we all know and the hope is this doesn't interrupt his solid start to the season.
