To say that New York Mets shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera is beat up would be a gross understatement. The veteran has already dealt with numerous lower body knee/leg injuries and more recently he has suffered from a thumb injury that morphed into torn ligaments as revealed by a Sunday MRI. While the Mets haven't said if Cabrera will go on the DL. one could imagine swinging a bat with a torn thumb ligament is not an easy thing to do. Alas the slumping Mets now have the perfect opportunity to promote top shortstop prospect Amed Rosario and in fact there is no clear reason not to do so. With Jose Reyes also struggling mightily in showing his age and the Mets in desperate need of a spark as the team continues to flounder, Rosario would be the perfect shot in the arm. While still just 21 year sold, Rosario has nothing left to prove as he is hitting everything in sight with a scorching .359 average to go with 2 home runs and 7 stolen bases. Rosario is likely long gone in most competitive fantasy baseball leagues but those who have remained VERY patient here should see that patience rewarded soon enough. Rosario is such a premium prospect that he would be a daily league guy from the jump and has future star written all over him.
