2017 FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: STEVEN WRIGHT DONE FOR YEAR AFTER ELECTING FOR KNEE SURGERY

Nothing went right from the very beginning of the 2017 season for Boston Red Sox knuckler Steven Wright as the 2016 All-Star was shelled in almost every start going back to spring training and then only lasted a month into the year before electing to have knee surgery that will sideline him for the rest of the year.  The cartilage restoration procedure will help stabilize Wright's knee and get him back on track for 2018 but one has to wonder if the Red Sox will come back to him as a member of the rotation after he pitched to a 8.25 ERA and 1.88 WHIP in 24 innings.  I warned you from the beginning not to draft Wright as year-to-year numbers are extremely volatile for a knuckleball pitcher and so nothing that took place was a shock to yours truly.  Cut him loose if you even still own the guy and don't look back.
