You could make the argument that New York Yankees first baseman Greg Bird is on the short list as the biggest bust of the 2017 fantasy baseball season and he is finding out ways to reach new lows apparently. After hitting just a pathetic .100 through the first month of the season, Bird has now been placed on the DL with a deep bone bruise in his ankle. Bird will be shut down for the next 7-10 days to let the ankle heal and he will likely need another week after that to get game-ready. Needless to say, Bird has been a colossal bust no matter how you look at him and this after a huge spring training performance where he hit a bunch of home runs and seemed destined for a breakout year. Well Bird now has reached the point where he can be cut in more shallow leagues as nothing has gone right here and one full month is enough patience before a decision to move forward without him can be made.
