2017 FANTASY BASEBALL CLOSING TIME: K-ROD FINALLY PULLED FROM CLOSER ROLE, JUSTIN WILSON GETS HIS CHANCE

Just one day after I posted my unending disgust regarding how the insane it was for the Detroit Tigers to still be employing the washed up Francisco Rodriguez as closer, the team pulled the plug on this disaster in elevating the very capable Justin Wilson into the role on Tuesday.  Rodriguez looks like a pitcher ready for retirement as he blew three saves to this point and stands with a ghastly 8.49 ERA and 2.06 WHIP but this should have been no surprise as I sounded the alarms here going back to January.  Meanwhile Wilson has been nearly unhittable as his 1.32 ERA and 0.59 WHIP show.  In addition, Wilson has been a K machine with 22 whiffs in just 13.2 innings which more than meets the requirement of being a closer.  Wilson is a must-own guy everywhere and he could very well be a top ten stopper the rest of the way given how good he has pitched.
