Oakland A's shortstop Marcus Semien will likely be out until July after testing revealed he has a fractured bone in his right wrist that needs surgery to correct. Semien will have a screw inserted into the wrist and will do little to no baseball activity for six weeks before being evaluated again. We were one of the firsts to report there was fear of a fracture which we got from a source connected to the Oakland front office and that is exactly what happened here. While Semien is far from a star, he proved in 2016 that he can be an everyday fantasy baseball shortstop capable of very good power some speed. He was flawed in that Semien had average struggles but still this is a decent knock to his owners. Stash him in deeper formats but in more shallow leagues you can cut him loose to the wire.
