FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: JUNIOR GUERRA (CALF) DOWN FOR 4-6 WEEKS

When I put Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Junior Guerra on our 2017 fantasy baseball BUST list, it had more to do with the expected regression in his pitching ratios than any sort of ill health.  Before he could start seeing his ERA shoot northward from his BABIP-helped 2016 mark, Guerra came down with a serious calf injury during his Opening Day start that will sideline him now for 4-6 weeks.  Those who play in more shallow formats can drop Guerra given how long he will be out as his mediocre K/9 rate and undependable ratios from last season make him a poor option to stash away.  What the injury does remind you of however is that calf ailments are typically one of the slowest healing health maladies for a pitcher or hitter to return from.
