FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: JON GRAY AND NOAH SYNDEGAARD THE LATEST TO BE SIDETRACKED

Two of the hardest-throwing starting pitchers in fantasy baseball saw their names front and center on the health blotter Friday but with wildly differing end results.  The first of course was Colorado Rockies pitcher Jon Gray being diagnosed with a stress fracture in his foot that will sideline him for a month or likely more.  X-Rays showed the break and now Gray's 2017 season looks quite interrupted.  While his early results were not great, Gray's advanced metrics all pointed toward him having a breakout season in 2017 with a run at 200-plus K's.  That will have to wait for another day though and with Gray being out so long, I won't blame anyone for cutting him loose.

Meanwhile Noah Syndegaard left his second start out of three early with issues with his pitching fingers.  Whereas a blister knocked out Thor early in the opener, this time it was a torn nail on his pitching hand.  The Mets have already said Syndegaard would not miss his next start and a fingernail is a lesser issue for a pitcher then a blister.  Nothing major here.
