Of all things it was a toe injury that forced the Colorado Rockies to place ace pitcher Jon Gray on the 10-day DL on Friday. Gray first hurt the left big toe during spring training but kept pitching through it until aggravating the injury again during his last start Thursday. The Rockies are saying it could be an absence that goes past 10 days and that makes sense given the fact a starting pitcher has to land on the toe on every pitch. Gray was one of my favorite sleeper pitchers this spring given his power arm and the fact his ERA in 2016 was hurt by some poor luck but he now has bigger things to worry about. Still you want to stash Gray if you can as he can help you down the line.
