Uh-oh. When the Texas Rangers said they would not activate All-Star third baseman Adrian Beltre on his first day being eligible to return on Tuesday, speculation swirled that the calf injury that hampered him all spring was a problem again. Well that is exactly what happened as Beltre suffered some sort of setback with the calf and an MRI was taken on Tuesday to determine the severity. A calf injury is a brutal one for an athlete to suffer as they tend to linger and can be quite painful. Throw in the fact Beltre is pushing 40 and the issue becomes more stark. Now there are also whispers Beltre could be out until May due to the setback but that will be determined based on the MRI and what the team discovers. Stay tuned on this but it already is starting to look like the comeback Beltre had a year ago could be a last hurrah given what has taken place thus far this season.
