FANTASY BASEBALL CLOSING TIME: SCARY FOREARM PAIN SIDELINES ZACH BRITTON, BRAD BRACH STEPS UP

Uh-oh.  Fantasy baseball owners of Baltimore Orioles closer Zach Britton got an unpleasant surprise Sunday when the top tier ninth inning man was placed on the 10-day DL with what the team is calling left forearm soreness.  Obviously any forearm pain is a potentially major issue due to its relation to Tommy John surgery and so Britton may be out past the 10 days.  Meanwhile the very capable Brad Brach will get a chance to close in his place and he more than has the ability given the high K rate he has shown since joining the Orioles.  Brach already has 10 strikeouts in just 6 innings this season with a 0.00 ERA and on talent alone he can be a top ten closer while Britton is out.  Britton dealt with injuries during the spring and now we have this.  Again it is a reminder that no closer is safe and that investing in them early is always a bad choice.
