2017 FANTASY BASEBALL ISSUES: RIDE GERARDO PARRA UNTIL DAVID DAHL RETURN

When the Colorado Rockies saw emerging outfield prospect David Dahl go down with injury early in spring training, the fallout there was that forgotten veteran Gerardo Parra would get a chance to put an ugly 2016 debut with the team somewhat behind him.  Parra earned a sizable contract from the Rockies leading into last season on the strength of an impressive breakout with the Milwaukee Brewers and Baltimore Orioles in 2015 when he hit 14 home runs and stole 14 bases but it didn't carry over when he moved out west despite the benefits of Coors Field  Alas Parra's second chance this season is off to a nice start as he has gone 5-for-9 to begin the year with 4 RBI.  I said when Dahl went down that a hot start by Parra could put pressure on management to keep him in the lineup and at least on that front, he is doing his part with the bat.  Dahl is still likely a week or two away from returning so at least until then, Parra can be used liberally as an OF 3 option.
