The Tampa Bay Rays will go with outfielder Corey Dickerson out of the leadoff spot for Sunday's season opener, something that was hinted at earlier in spring training. Dickerson of course is not an ideal candidate to leadoff given his utter lack of speed but like with Carlos Santana last season with the Cleveland Indians, it can work given his high OBP and very good power. Yes Dickerson is stained given the steep drop in his average last season after being traded away by the Colorado Rockies and exiting Coors Field, he still hit 24 home runs last season despite the .245 average. With an ADP past the 300 mark, Dickerson is a potentially huge value given the fact he is a good bet for another 25 bombs. Now with a full season in Tampa under his belt, I think the average goes up as well.
