In what has been nothing short of bizarre, the Cleveland Browns acquired QB Brock Osweiler from the Houston Texans; to go along with a a 2018 second round pick and a 2017 sixth round pick for just a 2017 fourth rounder. The Texans clearly engineered a salary dump of Osweiler who had just finished a disastrous first season of a ridiculous and long-term contract off just a handful of start with the Denver Broncos the previous year. Clearly the Texans created an opening for their pursuit of Tony Romo who will either be cut or traded by the Dallas Cowboys. Making this matter even more insane is the fact the Browns reportedly are considering cutting Osweiler outright as they were clearly in this just for the picks. With the Browns having a crazy amount of cap space, they seem willing to take a $16 million hit for the draft picks and thus look in the draft for their passer. Either way, this is a rough ending already for Osweiler not only as a starter but maybe in the NFL as a whole.
