2017 FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: TOM MURPHY LATEST ROCKIE TO GO DOWN, FRACTURED FOREARM SIDELINES HIM 4-6 WEEKS

Just a few days after Colorado Rockies first baseman Ian Desmond went down for most of April with a fractured hand caused by a HBP, catcher Tom Murphy joined him on the sidelines Tuesday when it was learned he would miss the next 4-6 weeks with a fractured forearm.  The news comes as a shock as there was not much talk of a Murphy injury but obviously this removes him as a decent fantasy baseball sleeper at a very shallow position.  Murphy hit well on the farm last season and was not overmatched in his cup of coffee run with the Rockies last season (.273, 5-HR) and this spring he was just starting to get into a groove at the dish.  What this means is that light-hitting Tony Wolters will be the Rockies' starting catcher to begin the 2017 fantasy baseball season and is only worth drafting in NL-only leagues.  Tough start to the Rockies season to say the least.
