One of the most sought-after 2017 fantasy baseball sleepers has been struck down on Monday in the form of Colorado Rockies outfielder David Dahl who was officially diagnosed by the team with a stress reaction in his rib. The current plan is for Dahl to be evaluated again in two weeks but this is obviously news that seriously threatens Dahl's Opening Day availability. This is something I first started discussing the other day when we learned Dahl's "back" injury was not getting any better and now at least we have a diagnosis. That means fourth outfielder Gerardo Parra will be the team's starter when Dahl is ready and the former actually has a chance to nail down the job himself if he plays well early on in the season. For those who already own Dahl, this is not devastating news but it is not what you want to hear either.
