2017 FANTASY BASEBALL CLOSING TIME: GREG HOLLAND LOOKS GOOD IN SIMULATED GAME

Some closer news and notes to get to as spring training continues to churn along:

-Rehabbing Colorado Rockies reliever Greg Holland pitched in a simulated game on Monday and came out of it unscathed and impressed the team brass.  Holland's fastball hovered in the 91-92 range which of course is way down from his 98-mph days.  Of course Holland is really only just starting to ramp things up coming off 2016 Tommy John surgery and the Rockies have no need to rush him with the very capable Adam Ottavino working the ninth inning.  Ottavino should be the guy to close games right out of the gate but Holland is at least worth drafting as a very late round speculative pick to see if he can reclaim his past glory as a top tier stopper.

-Cam Bedrosian is scheduled to face hitters for the first time on Monday as he is now pretty much fully recovered from his slight groin pull.  With Huston Street likely beginning the season on the DL with a lat strain, Bedrosian has to be considered the favorite for saves for the Angels to begin the season.  Rocking a massive 11.00-plus K/9 rate last season, Bedrosian has the stuff to pitch in the ninth inning.  Also Mike Scoscia would be fooling himself if he thinks the washed up Andrew Bailey is a better option.

-Zach Britton looks 100 percent back from his earlier oblique issues as he tossed from a half mound on Monday.  Britton has said for a few days now he doesn't feel anything in the oblique anymore and so he can safely be drafted as a top tier closer as long as the health continues to cooperate.
