2017 FANTASY BASEBALL BRIEF: BIG TEST FOR SALVADOR PEREZ (KNEE) TUESDAY

Having thus far avoiding serious injury, Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez will head for a follow-up MRI on the knee that he injured during a WBC game on Saturday.  Initial tests revealed just inflammation but the Royals wanted the second test to see what the joint looks like when the swelling has gone down.  Obviously this is the last hurdle to clear in terms of Perez being able to begin the 2017 fantasy baseball season on time but as of now there are no reasons to think he won't be able to do so.  Having firmly established himself as a top five fantasy baseball catcher with 20-home run power but with a shaky average, Perez should still be drafted as such unless this MRI shows something surprising.
