FANTASY BASEBALL INJURY FALLOUT: MAX SCHERZER NOT READY FOR OPENER?

Washington Nationals ace SP Max Scherzer sent some alarm bells off in the fantasy baseball world on Thursday when he told reporters he is not a given for his Opening Day start due to a stubborn stress fracture in the knuckle of his throwing hand.  While Scherzer is scheduled to throw his first bullpen session early next week, this is obviously not something you want to hear if you already own or plan to own the consensus number 2 starter in fantasy baseball.  This was the same injury that hampered Scherzer last season but he was still at his Cy Young best which diminishes the overall worry meter for 2017.  It would be tough to imagine Scherzer not making that Opening Day start and we would still grade him out as a firm number 2 overall starter once again behind only Clayton Kershaw this season.
