2017 FANTASY BASEBALL ISSUES: JOC PEDERSON TO PLAY AGAINST LEFTIES TO BEGIN SEASON

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Sunday that he envisions outfielder Joc Pederson playing on a daily basis, including against lefties who he has hit just .125 last season in 64 at-bats.  While no one doubts the power that Pederson has, his fantasy baseball impact is not overly impressive due to the fact he has hit a horrific .210 and .246 his first two full seasons in the majors as his strikeouts are ridiculous and his struggles are epic against lefties.   Meanwhile Pederson's minor league stolen base prowess has not made the trip to the majors as he has just a total of 10 steals the last two years.  The lack of steals is important due to the fact Pederson needs to contribute there to offset the batting average damage.  Without that and with the fact Pederson's average will likely go under .240 if he plays consistently against lefties as Roberts anticipates, he can be graded as nothing more than an outfielder 23 this season.
