As is a rite of spring, Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Garrett Richards proclaimed himself 100 percent healthy to begin the 2017 season despite planning to go into the year with a tear in his UCL. Richards chose to avoid Tommy John surgery and instead rehab the injury like Masahiro Tanaka has done but we all know it is just a matter of time before it tears entirely. There is no reason to chase Richards who even before the tear was diagnosed, was simply a slightly above-average fantasy baseball starter who doesn't have the power stuff to overlook the risk to his elbow.
