FANTASY FOOTBALL UPDATED TIGHT END RANKINGS

Here are the final 2016 fantasy football tight end rankings with an eye toward 2017.

1.  Greg Olsen:  Sorry as dominant a tight end as Rob Gronkowski is, the durability and sustained excellence of Greg Olsen make him the worthy number 1.
2.  Travis Kelce:  Kelce is capable of even better number if he had a QB more adept than Alex Smith but he still is as good as it gets at the position.
3.  Rob Gronkowski:  Simply put, Gronk can't stay healthy and so you have to factor that into his cost.  Extreme talent but brittle as glass.
4.  Zach Ertz:  It looks like Carson Wentz-to-Zach Ertz is here to stay for quite awhile.
5.  Jordan Reed:  Basically Reed is a Gronk clone:  big talent but always misses games each season with injury.
6.  Delanie Waker
7.  Kyle Rudolph:  Posted career-best 83 catches and always a big TD threat.
8.  Dennis Pitta:  Actually led all tight ends in receptions in 2016 with 86 but just two scores.  Long injury history himself.
9.  Cameron Brate:  Scored 8 touchdowns in a very solid breakout.  Quickly becoming the most trusted outlet for QB Jameis Winston in Tampa Bay offense.
10. Jimmy Graham:  Never really found a groove in Seattle but retains immense receiving potential.
12. Zach Miller:  Was having a solid breakout before suffering season-ending foot injury.  Intriguing going forward.
13. Hunter Henry:  Antonio Gates wants to come back for another season but Henry expected to be the featured receiving tight end next season.
14. Eric Ebron
15. Jason Witten
16. C.J. Fiedorowicz
17. Jack Doyle:  Want to see more of Doyle in the Indy passing attack as he is quite capable of big things.
18. Gary Barnridge
19. Charles Clay
20. Martellus Bennett:  Never really took off in New England in his 2016 debut there.  Remains solid TD target.
21. Julius Thomas
22. Vance McDonald
23. Coby Fleener
24, Lance Kendricks
